Wouldnt it be nice

It would make a lot of sense
it would be just basic logic
to have the "replace selected clip" in the media pool use the location of the clip selected to be the starting point for selecting the replacement?

hmm, maybe in some cases yes, but as it is now is quite useful as it uses the last used location for a replacement as the initial folder, which is more useful some of the time also. Would be good to have the option though!

I think the last opened folder makes more sense.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Having to find a file next to another down a big branching network....?
The current situation takes me to the last directory I had .... for yesterday’s client...

I acknowledge I am speaking for my own needs but that usually means getting out of the”replace” dialogue, finding the right directory and going through the multiple directory branches....a waste of time for me.
I thought I would have had broad support for an efficiency improvement like this.
eg:
Low res jpg to be replaced by tif after Photoshop clean-up

Right click timeline object
Find in media storage
Open file location
Photoshop as required.
Save as new name (preserve original)
Back to DaVinci right click media pool object for “replace”
DaVinci opens directory for previous still: different drive
Swear a bit
Go back and find location.
Manually navigate to retouched still. ie...1 - 2 minutes of wasted time ...500 stills...about 17 hours (a little exaggeration for dramatic effect!)
