Old project DV15 opens in 16.2 but crashes during export

PostFri Mar 13, 2020 3:28 pm

Good afternoon,
while all the project I work on are just perfect on version 16.2 Studio, today I opened an old project edited on version 15.
At the beginning the computer crashed I suppose due to cache, I put "none" on cache and could edit with no problem.
When I try and export, the computer crashes every time.
I tried to go back to the projects I work on now, they go very well.
I tried to copy the settings from a "good" project to this one, but once more the computer crashed.
Processor: Imac 3,6 GHz Intel Core i7 Quad core
Memory: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR 3
Radeon RX 580 8 GB
Hope to send in the right place: this is my first problem with Great software!
All my Very Best!

Tried mp4, ProRes 442HQ, ProRes 444. I suppose I did something wrong setting the project from V. 15 to 16.2. Can't find what.

Are u using v16.2 build 55? If not, download v16.2 again and test.

Done. On version 55 I get the same.
I suppose I do something wrong in settings and so graphic card doesn't like it. Yesterday I disabled the GPU control on Braw. Made a 27 minutes video render in ProRes 422HQ 3 minutes by 3 minutes. It worked, but the files were of a quality far from what they should have been: the mp4 I had last year from the same timeline was better.

Good Morning,
I solved the problem I had last year concerning export and rendering a project on DV 16.
Recently the power supply unit of the ...intosh broke. So I discovered that it was mounted upside down: the fan, instead of helping to force hot air ouside, helped air to remain inside the computer heating motherboard and GPU. During rendering, at 25 fps or at maximum, the temperature was too high and the computer went in stop.
The new power supply works and I can render the same old project from BRaw to a master ProRes at maximum speed. The same for recent projects.
(Note that a "sort of" solution I maintained for works in the last year was to export at 10 fps.)
DaVinci Resolve is a blessing!
Thank you, very much! And more for the help I received last year!
Alberto
