Resolve 16.2 Won't Open on Hackintosh

PostSat Mar 21, 2020 12:49 pm

On AMD-based Hackintosh systems, the latest DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.2 crashes on the loading screen.

See this thread where the problem and potential fix was discovered: https://amd-osx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10263

Davinci Resolve 16.2 can work with the same fix as Matlabs needs:

Replace this file in the /contents/library folder within the Davinci Resolve package

https://osdn.net/projects/sfnet_badgui2 ... mp5.dylib/

The stock open mp library has some functions running only on intel CPUs.

The problem seems to be with the libiomp5.dylib file included in 16.2. DRS 16.1.2 works fine on the same AMD-based Hackintosh machine.

For future Googlers: This is still the fix for Ryzen Hackintosh's running Big Sur 11.0.1 and Davinci Resolve 17 beta 3.

At least, those were the latest offerings at the time of writing. Thank you for this file!

Good to know! I'm on an Intel-based Hackintosh now and having zero issues. Nice that Adobe apps all work now as well (before some plugins like Warp Stabilizer and 3D Camera tracker weren't working in Premiere/After Effects)

Also installing Resolve 17.1 beta 3 with M1 support fixes the issue. No need for the "hack".
