Dip to Color Dissolve Issue

Hello,

Is there any way to change the default color from White to Black? It frustrates me that I can't have a dedicated Fade to Black that I can slap on a clip and be done with it.

Any solution for this?

You can change it by clicking on the Transition in your timeline, then going to the Inspector and changing the color. When you have it the way you like, you can right-click on the Transition and choose "Create Transition Preset".

Additionally: after this transition preset is created it will appear in the "User" section of the Video Transitions toolbox, near the bottom. You can right click it and Add to Favourites or click the star to the right of its name to have it easily visible in the bottom left "Favourites" section.

Hi folks,

I just discovered in Resolve 16 a way to fix this issue.

Once you make the dip-to-black preset, you can right click on the preset in the User section of the Video Transitions and select "Set as Standard Transition" to have new transitions applied e.g. using Command+T dip to black.

Best,
