Titles / Subtitles Incorrect Rendering

PostThu Mar 26, 2020 5:43 pm

Hi All,

So I'm attempting to put titles in my footage and unfortunately Resolve 16.2 seems to render text incorrectly.

To replicate the issue:
- insert a title (not title+)
- set a background that covers the text
- set a background colour such as #ffffff, set opacity to 25%
- set text to a colour such as blue
- turn off all other rendering options such as stroke and drop shadow

If you zoom in on the text area and then switch between 0% opacity on the background and 1% you'll see the text develops a very noticeable halo from the background colour but without transparency. This unfortunately corrupts the appearance of the text and looks hideous. However, if you leave the background opacity on the default of say 50% it's fine.

I've attached some screenshots that hopefully show this.

Can anybody offer any workarounds for this? Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Cheers,
James
