Using Davinci from an external Hardisk

Hey guys,
Im reaching to all of you, to see if somebody can solve my problem. My computer is a 2015 macbook pro retina 13, with 8GB of Ram memory and when it comes to edit videos with 4k files, of course, it goes a little bit slow.
The thing is that I bought a Samsung SSD to edit with final cut using an external drive and since then everything went so soo smooth.

Im wondering if I can do the same with Davinci Resolve? Because Im facing the same problem and even if I drag Davinci into the disk and I open it from there, even so it keeps going slow.... So, anyone know if I have to adjust something else in the settings? (I already said to the program to save every file into the disk)

Thanks!!

You can put the media on an external drive but the application should be on the system disk.
Its likely your 2015 MBP 13" is just way underpowered.
8GB system ram is small and i guess you might have a Intel GPU which also uses the same ram making things tougher.

Hey, the 4K files come from a Panasonic GH5s. With the Samsung T5 I can edit with no problem at all.

Thanks for the links, but as you may know already, replacements in mac are not possible. I guess you are suggesting a windows may be better and cheaper. It's true, but now I have a mac and I need to deal with it, haha.
But tell me, then why I can edit so smooth with Final Cut, with 4k files, in my slow macbook from a Samsung T5?
The question was why, apparently, can't I do the same with the Davinci Resolve...!
