Patch Replacer Issues

PostSun Apr 12, 2020 5:36 pm

Hi everybody,

I use the Patch Replacer very often to fix a lot of different stuff like blemishes etc. Is a great Tool - and very fast to get good results. But there are a few things I´m a little bit confused about:

-Why is it not possible to use oter shapes as Circle or Square (with use alphe has never really worked to get any good result - possible I do not understad how it works)

-Why can´t I get below 0,010 Size for the target circle?

and (this ist the weiredest one!)

-Why is it - if target with an height is both 0,010 - the circle still a horizontal ellipse instead of a roud circle.

Thanx for answers!
Tobias

You should try using the node sizing option it’s much more powerful and flexible when using power windows.

Also the paint tool in fusion can pretty hard do anything.

He is not using either of those, he is using the Patch Replacer OFX, as he clearly stated!

Yes I read the op
I personally think it’s a weak tool and offered other alternatives.

Thanks! :D

No seriously... I tried the Stamp or clone Tool in Fusion Tab... but - its 10 times more work with all this node tree Stuff. And the tools there are not as good as the patch replacer. You still see the spots and have to do tons of work until its seamles perfect.
Through the Adaptive blend mode with the patch replacer, it works somehow more like the repair tool in Photoshop. You copy pixels from one place to another and the blending mode does the rest. FX tracking and that was all. 2 Minutes for perfect retouching a blemish. The compositor in my company (AE, Flame & Nuke) was excited about how fast I was cleaning up a scene with that tool.
But like I said... it comes to limitations and I wonder why they are there.

Thanks,

Tobias

P.S.: If anybody can tell me a tool in Fusion Tab that works the same way but I just don´t know (Im a total Fusion Rooky) would be fine too!
