I downloaded and unzip the DaVinci Resolve installer (DaVinci_Resolve_16.2_Windows). I tried to install on a Windows 10 desktop (x64, 16 GB Ram with 149 GB free space. When I double click on the installer, it starts and a window with components pops up saying 'In order to install Resolve you must install these components:' When I click on install, it starts and then pops up with 'Failed to install DaVinci Resolve Panels. Continue with others components? After clicking 'Yes', it attempts to install Resolve and then Raw. Each failed with 'Failed to install....(screen shots attached).

As the error messages in the pop ups are generic and of no real help, where can I find more information? I know when the product is installed, there are log files but what about pre-installation?

You need to provide us with more information about your system - type of CPU, GPU, etc. You need Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS.

I am running 64 Bit Windows 10 home on an Intel i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20 GHZ with 16 GB RAM.

My GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB.

Your system looks sufficient enough. I was going to suggest reinstalling or upgrading your GPU drivers but the issue is it is failing during the installation - so I doubt it has to do with the GPU drivers.

I'm reaching here but we have heard of a user with a messed up Visual C++ config that had a similar issue.
If you dont want to do a completely new Win install, try un-installing Resolve and installing Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 before installing Resolve again and see what happens.

I installed Visual Studio and tried to install Resolve again. No go.

I could not find the Davinci Resolve files in program files nor the logo on the desktop. I have windows 10 and tried installing it 5 times now.

Exactly same error on almost identical system. Dutch version of Windows 10 64 here.

Interesting that this issue should crop up again at the same time as me. Are you by chance trying to install the Resolve 17 beta? That's what I am trying to do and am running into the same error.

My machine is an AMD Threadripper 1950x/32GB running the latest Windows 10 build 19041.388.

Uninstalling Davinci Resolve through add/remove programs and then reinstalling with the installer seems to have worked.

I have the same issue on Davinci Resolve 17 beta. I have a Intel Core i5 3470 16GB ram AMD RX580 GPU. Resolve 16 ran really well. I can not install the 17. it says "failed to install davinci resolve extras" I don't know what to do.. and I have removed all the previous versions as well..

I have a related issue.

I can complete the installation process and DaVinci Resolve Studio 17b06 installed fine. I have also been successfully able to use the programme.

However, out of the blue Davinci Resolve Studio would not start any more. (Application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application.

I have uninstalled all VC++ Redistributables and reinstalled latest from Microsoft, I have re-installed Resolve Studio, all to no avail. Windows 10 even got an upgrade clean install - I'm currently a bit lost, as I can't go back to Resolve 16 due to the project database already upgraded and ongoing projects in DaVinci Resolve 17...

System is i7-9700, 32GB RAM, GTX 1070, Windows 10 latest. Any help greatly appreciated!

Have you Unzipped the file? I had same Issue

I have a similar issue. Everything downloads for me except for the control panels. I used to have Davinci Resolve 16, but I wanted to upgrade to 17. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but before I uninstalled 16, it was working fine.

System info (laptop):
Windows 10 64bit
AMD Ryzen 7 (3rd gen)
NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
16GB of RAM
845 GB of SSD left

Hi, update. I don't know why this worked but with my system all I did to get it to download was to not check any of the unchecked boxes. I just clicked download and it downloaded everything I need and now I can use resolve without any issues.
