Color Viewer recieving LUT for Color Monitor

Ok peeps, tried to figure this out for days now. All the sudden my 3D LUT that is applied to 3d Video Monitor is being applied to the Viewer in the GUI on all but the Color and Delivery tabs. I have of course, No LUT Selected for all the other drop down selections and Hide GUI Overlays unchecked. I haven't changed anything that I know of and this just started a few days ago.

I did update to 16.2.1 but just rolled back to 16.2 and it's still there. I'm sure the error lies between the chair and keyboard but dammit I can't figure out what happened. It seems like the Color Viewer Lookup Table drop downs in CM have zero effect or are broken somehow. Also I opened up old projects that I haven't touched in a long time and it's there too so it doesn't seem to be project based.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Vic

I seem to have similar issues:

I use a dual screen setup and I use a 3d lut (created with DisplayCAL) in the 3D Color Viewer Lookup Table slot. Now I was trying out the Video Clean Feed option in the Workspace menu. I tried switching the Color Viewer LUT to something else to see if it's used in the Clean Feed, nothing changed. I went back to my regular dual screen setup and tried switching LUTs again. Still nothing changed! Even with something really obvious like a strong look lut, no change.

I tried reinstalling Resolve 15.3.1 and lo and behold, 3d Color Viewer LUT works as expected. Is there some setting that I have changed since that's causing the CM to misbehave?

Man I wish I knew and I can not get an answer anywhere. I rolled back to previous versions of 16 and it is still not working. I haven't touched these settings so I'm clueless but it's not a fun bug.

Sorry, I didn't really direct the question to you specifically, Vic, since you appear to be having the same issue.

But now that I read your first post again, I noticed you mentioned Hide UI Overlays. I checked my preferences, and I had that checked in Preferences - User - Playback. I unchecked it and it fixed my problem! I have a lut only in the 3d Color Viewer slot.

This is what the manual says about Hide UI Overlays option:
Hide UI Overlays.png
Hide UI Overlays.png (129.84 KiB) Viewed 1566 times

Not a word about disabling color management LUTs! And even if it was bundled with "onscreen controls", it should come back to normal when playback is stopped. Am I still missing something or is this a severe bug?

Vic, since you have Hide UI Overlays unchecked and are still having problems there may be something else going on. Or maybe if you toggle it on and off it magically fixes itself...

Any update on this issue? I am having the same problem. Checking or unchecking "Hide UI Overlays" has no effect.

The Color workspace works fine, but the Edit workspace is inheriting the 3DLUT from my external monitor despite "No LUT selected" being chosen for Color Viewer in the Project Settings.

Having the exact same problem as well on Davinci Resolve Studio 16.2.5. Such a pain, would love to get this sorted.

Same issue here with Resolve 17.9

Has this ever been solved?
