Davinci Resolve Studio 16 issues

PostFri May 08, 2020 10:21 pm

Good evening,

I just upgraded to a AMD 3960x Threadripper from a 1950x to get overall better performance.

However, it takes a very long time to load DaVinci. Actually way too long, 3 to 4 minutes.
Then I get a white screen as if it froze. Then finally I can load a project, but that takes forever too.
I do not use mechanical drives, all solid state.

Very frustrating to say the least being slow with 24 cores / 48 threads.

Any Help will be GREATLY appreciated.

MSI RTX 3090 SUPRIM X
Sabrent 500GB Rocket NVMe, dedicated 1TB for Davinci Cache
CX500 1TB SSD x2 For video renders.

Physically take out one of the GPUs.
You can’t have mixed.
I’ve also never seen a six monitor system so I’d drop 4 of those to start and learn more.
I’d use the NVIDIA have with CUDA processing

Just a FYI, worked for years, that problem just started. But the problem fixed on its own with an program update.
