Very low CPU usage and crashes in Fusion

Hi guys - as per the title, I'm experiencing low CPU usage and general poor performance and also crashes in Fusion.

System specs:

Software - DaVinci Resolve 16 Studio - 16.2.2.012
OS - Windows 10 64 bit with all updates installed etc
MB - MSI TRX40 Creator with most recent BIOS update
CPU - Threadripper 3970X
GPU - RTX 2080Ti running latest Nvidia studio driver
RAM - 64GB 3200MHz
Storage for DR - dedicated 1TB NVME SSD
Resolution of footage - 1440P @ 60FPS

Note - All footage has been generated into optimised media before being placed into timeline. Settings below:

GPU settings within DR16:

1) I'm seeing very low overall CPU usage when using fusion in DR16 and when exporting. Given my setup I'm wondering if this low utilisation is causing some of my issues. Please see images core usage, it never goes above 8% during exporting. Whilst some effects are GPU intensive I would expect editorial software to heavily utilise a multi threaded processor like the TR3970x. Please see images below for example and another for export settings:

I'm also noticing a couple of seconds of lag when switching tabs, regardless of which one is selected.

2) Crashes in Fusion when using depth of field with Renderer3D and Camera3D.

I can click on the timeline anywhere and after 3-5 seconds of delay the preview window will update with the correct image for that frame with the effects applied. However if I press play whilst within Fusion DR instantly freezes and has to be forced to close/crash. If I move back to the Edit tab I can play the entire clip with effects (once it's finishing rendering) without it crashing but in Fusion it always locks up. When I watch the full clip in the Edit tab I never see above 14% CPU utilisation.

I've attached the last log file, where I've just recreated the error, hopefully everything is there you need to diagnose issues. I've also attached a NFO file.

Thanks in advance!

I'm havin Fusion issues as well when it comes to playback and rendering, which i did not have on my old rig

Chime in to say same here on fusion renders, so slow. Color grades regardless of the complexity smash the CPU/GPU to 100% but fusion just chugs along at 30% +/- with the GPU at about the same.

Regarding stability anyone else still getting that bug preventing them from deleting nodes when in dual screen mode? Happens to be all the time and requires switching back and forth to single mode to correct. Stranger still now when I switch back to single mode the interface is missing a whole bunch of stuff and becomes unresponsive until going back to dual screen again... This was killing me in the beta and apparently was addressed?

Same here,
I have a much less powerful system than yours, but color grading and green screens work ok in terms of playback speed, but simple Fusion Compositions with just images and Text+ nodes just freeze all the time and playback is impossible, with both CPU and GPU utilisation quite low.

Blackmagic should really do something to improve the performance of Fusion, but I think we, users, need to push this somehow. I read (and I wrote) a lot of post complaining about this, not sure Blackmagic is getting the message.

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1545M v5 @ 2.90GHz
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro P4000
