Resolve Free Won't Open

I love my free DaVinci Resolve Program! That said, I bought a new computer just so I could use it to edit videos. I downloaded and installed it in the new computer and it worked like a dream! After a few days of using it I clicked on the icon and it wouldn't open. It didn't even give me an error message.

That was yesterday. I deleted the program and downloaded it again but it still doesn't open. The error message says, "DR could not find any OpenCL capable GPUs. Would you like to review and update your DR Hardware Configuration? I clicked and looked through everything but didn't know enough to change anything.

Please help! We have vacation bible school in 8 days and I really need to edit videos!!!!!

Thanks so much!

Tell us what exact version of Resolve you are using.

Tell us your computer details, specifically what type of graphics card is in it.

What OS is it using?

I don't know what you mean by which DR I am using. It is the free version of Resolve if that's what you mean.

I have a brand new, four day old gaming computer with NVIDEA GeForce Experience 3.17.0.126 and Graphics Driver 441.45 and PhysX System Software 9.19.0218.

I don't understand how it could work so great and then just stop opening. The error message is "DR could not find any OpenCL capable GPUs."

Please help! Thank you!

Oh it's Davinci Resolve 16 free version. The most current one. I redownloaded it twice today to reinstall it.

Thanks!

OK, I'll take a wild guess that you are using Windows 10. So this is what we need from you:

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

Dear friend Dwaine, I read your reply and i have the same problem. I used DR15, and now DR16. I use Windows 10.
I made the free download, went trhu step by step, and after rebooting my pc, each time that i try to open DR16, the cursor make some thinking aspect, but nothing happens.
I made what you said, run log, it happers on my Desktop a folder... but now? What i must do?

There are instructions in the FAQs.
Put the logs, NFO file and full system info on Dropbox or similar and put a link here.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

Your Intel HD 4600 GPU is really not adequate to run Resolve. It only has 1.6GB of VRAM, and 2GB is the recommended minimum.

That said, I think it probably could work, poorly, perhaps with a different Intel HD graphics driver.

If you could provide the always requested Windows System Information .NFO file, that might be helpful.
