Can't hear any audio, can see level meters moving

PostSat Jun 13, 2020 4:19 pm

In 16.2.2

For some reason I can't hear any audio only when in resolve. I have tried starting a new project to test and having the same result.

I have checked my computer output, youtube, and audio files on my computer and they all playback fine. It is only within resolve.

In resolve I can see the level meters in fairlight working but I can't hear anything.

No tracks are muted or soloed. There are no plug-ins on any channels in fairlight.

Audio is not disengaged in the timeline viewer.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've also tried pulling up audio in media, edit and color page and I'm not able to hear anything.

If your audio is routed correctly, have you by any chance muted the audio here?

Thanks for the reply! The timeline viewer audio is not disabled either.

Perhaps the audio routing is messed up because I am not using my usual audio interface and instead ouputting straight out of my computer.

Any idea where I might be able to check to see where resolve is sending audio? Maybe for some reason it still is looking for my interface that isn't here today.

Hmmm so I actually just got it to work but I'm not sure exactly what happened. In any case, here is what I did.

I navigated to preferences>Video and Audio I/O and under speaker set up>Speaker configuration I simply changed it from User system setting to manual and confirmed that device was set at Built-in output (the only option).

The audio started working after this and even still works when I switch Speaker configuration to "user system setting".

Not sure how this fixed it but it did. Thanks for helping me get there!

This is how my audio is configured using the Realtek soundcard.

Thanks for sharing this!

I wasn't able to replicate the problem.

I just had this problem too. I just restarted Resolve and the sound is back again.
