Retiming clips by dragging not working properly.

I've been trying to fix this issue for a couple days now. When using the retime control, you are able to drag the top bar where it says speed change to chagne the speed of the clip, like Premiere's rate stretch.

For some reason, it doesn't change proportionately. So if I half it, it should be 200 percent, but it goes to 150 instead and trims the clip

When I use the drop down menu to change the speed to something specific like 200%, and then drag it back to 100, it actually become 133%.

Any ideas?

Is the timeline frame rate the same as the recorded media? That would be my first suspicion, but I don't know for sure if it would cause an issue. Next guess would be, are you sure you didn't drag from the wrong spot? The double-black arrow cursor is re-time, but if you accidentally position your mouse a little lower, you could be trimming by mistake.

Yeah, both are 60fps. I am dragging by the top bar that's pops up, the speed change one.

Seems like it's shorter clips are the ones that won't change speed correctly.

I can't duplicate this in Studio 16.2.3 for Windows. Seems to be working as expected.

Can you try with a 60fps clip, which is 6seconds or so long. Cut into three 2 second segments? Then set the middle cut to 200% speed by using the drop down menu. After this I drag that clip by holding the bar back to what should be 100%, but instead it become ~140% speed.

Thanks for any help you can give

Any way to get this bumped? Jim Simon has said he can replicate the issue in our private messages

Reporting here is about all that can be done. BMD will likely need to code in a fix in a future release.

Where can I submit a bug report?

Here is fine but you will need to detail OS and Resolve specific versions.

Did you solve this? I have same question in Resolve20 PC 5080.
