HELP with subtitles BUG!

PostThu Jul 02, 2020 7:53 pm

Hello
I`ll have to deliver a feature film in near future with subtitles, and have made 3 or 4 Resolve (16.2.2 and 16.2.3) differents projects / timelines but with exactly the length / same number of frames - (1920X1080 - 23,976p) to switching the same SRT file among the timelines.
Last week I got 2 SRT clips that vanished(!), but no sync problems.
When I tried these files today to simulate the process that my client will do, the sutbtitles from the same SRT file were progressively becoming OUT OF SYNC along the timeline(s) with the same timelines they were in sync last week. Nothing has changed!
The timelines (and clips) have the same speed: 23,976.
So what have I been missing here?
I`ll thank a lot whatever help that can solve this misterious bug.

On thing to try:
Drop the subtitles on a blank 24fps project.
Export a new srt file.
Go to 23fps project and import the converted srt.

-- actually you might need a subtitle editor to convert the srt timecode from 24 to 23.976, assuming that the subtitles were created at 24fps

Thanks George.
The subtitles were created at a 23,976p timeline. All my DVR timelines are set at 23,976p. As the subtitle track has created within DVR, I could never suppose there would be that kind of issue.
Man, this DVR subtitle tool, at least with long length timelines like mine, seems to be a total mess!
Now I have 2 big problems: video / audio / subtitles going out of sync as timeline progresses and some subtitle clips vanishing randomly.
I need an orientation to solve these serious bugs urgently.

It's not normal. Maybe try the basic stuff - reinstall new version, latested NVidia drivers, delete Blackmagic folder in ProgramData.

I just fresh reinstalled the program - nope. I`ve also done some other tests, as long as my very little technical knowledge allows me to.
When I import the SRT file to a new projects / timelines, but clones of the timeline that generated the SRT file, drag (or insert) it to the sync frame:
1) Some clips of the timeline are missing (randomly chosen by the bug), but it seems that the missing clips are always the same, and there are nothing in their place.
2) Regardless of the missing clips, video / audio / subtitles are progressively becoming OUT OF SYNC along the timeline(s).
3) Despite the SRT track missing clips, the SRT correspondent WORD file (subtitle text) shows NO missing clips, but as some of them shows a kind of disorder/disarray in relation to the standard organization of the other lines, they are not generated in the timeline as subtitle files.
Note that all the timelines are 23,976p.
UPDATE: As I have observed, the problematic subtitle track file generated by the Resolve export tool progressively anticipates to the original subtitling along the timeline.
But if I watch both rendered vídeo + subtitle track in VLC Player, the bug shows up.
Anyone can help me???
