Jumpy/flickery edges with dynamic zoom

Hey,
I'm getting some really frustrating results whenever I do any type of dynamic zoom on images or text where the edges of the image/text flickers, as if it was snapping to a whole pixel. I can fix the flickery edge by adding a cropping softness of -1.5, but then i get a dark black edge for whatever reason.... I tried playing with super sampling and antialiasing and scale algorithms, but no luck.
Any ideas on how to fix my issues?? The dark edge when softening a crop is particularly frustrating...
I'm working in a 1080p 29.97fps timeline by the way. And it shows up in the final render too.

Dark edge with soft cropping.mp4 = shows that when i adjust the softness on the crop to make the borders of the frame soft, it creates a dark edge.

Strobey Edge.mov = Shows the strobing that occurs when doing a dynamic zoom

Dark Edge.jpg = shows a dark edge that appears whenever I layer an image over some footage and scale it down in the frame

The first idea I have is that the source may have a pixel of black on the edge that is not obvious until you apply the effects.

I don’t have a second idea yet.
