Unable to mask photo in Fusion..but can do it on another one

I can't seem to figure this one out and would like some help.

I have a photo that I want to mask. This photo is going to an image plane in 3D space. BUT, this photo is not affected by any of the spline tools like polygon, etc.

When I tried a random photo, it worked great.

Both photos are jpg's. And I tried .png's and it still doesn't.

Any ideas why or what's going on?

Tried a simple experiment. And it seems only certain photos can be masked in fusion. Really strange because I can't see a difference in the photos. They're both .jpg.

In this screenshot the photo on the right can be masked, but the photo on the left cannot.

Have you tried bringing the photos in with a Loader node instead of a MediaIn node? Have you tried resaving the problem images with another program like Photoshop or Gimp?

Yes, I've tried different photo formats and it’s still hit and miss. I also just tried the loader node and that didn't seem to work either.

i have the same problem. i use loader node to load .png files. and mask dont work correctly

On left window its my macros node with animation and mask node is not affect logo right now. but on mediaout node i can see the logo- like i use mask node on it.

in my case problem is related to fusion cash of something like that. because now its work correct. i had uncheck the auto-proxy in fusion.

Nick,

Try adding a Background node and turning it's alpha all the way down. Merge that with the MediaIn node.

Hi guys,

I'm having the same issue... the first three masks in the screenshot behave as expected, but the last one does not.

They are all pngs, all the settings on all the nodes are the same.

I've tried re-exporting the offending image, saving it as a jpeg, and using the loader node.

I wasn't sure about how to implement xunile's suggestion on the background node, so any help there would be great.

Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated, I'm stuck on this.

Can you post a screenshot of the MediaIn giving you a problem in one viewer with the bspline node selected and its settings in the Inspector
