Retime Speed Keyframes

PostSun Jul 19, 2020 1:57 pm

Hi, I wonder if anyone can offer any help in speeding up my workflow with a specific type of work I'm doing a lot of.

I'm speed ramping a lot of footage of homes for sale, they are walkthrough videos and I speed up in-between all the "interesting" points. To do this I use the Retime Speed dropdown panel in the edit window for a clip. I can easily have 50 keyframes in a clip (representing a walking through of the entire house) and by default, each keyframe is not eased in or out, so I have to click each keyframe to select it, then carefully click the ease in/out button, then repeat for the other 49 keyframes, then I have to click each keyframe again to bring up the anchors in order to change the amount of easing to taste. This is proving to be pretty tedious. I know with some other keyframes you can drag the mouse and select multiple keyframes, but it seems you can't do this with the Retime Speed keyframes - unless I'm missing something.

Is there not any way of making the default for a keyframe to be eased in/out?

Any tips would be very much appreciated (I'm using the Studio Version). Cheers.

Is there not a keyboard shortcut to go to the next keyframe in the Retime Speed panel? That would help.

You can drag a selection around all keyframes and change their type en masse.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I don't seem to be able to do that with the keyframes in the Retime Speed section on my computer (Windows OS). Could anyone confirm whether that is the case on your system? The dragging selection does work for other paramters, such as x or y zoom I think, but not the Retime Speed. Just that simple thing would be such a time saver for me.

I would love to know this as well. It'd be great to have a the keyframes smooth in and out by default...

On the other hand, I'd also love to know if there's a way for us to save a set of keyframes we've applied to a time remap as a preset or as default?
