I have a problem with the BRAW Player on Mac from time to time. When I double click on a BRAW file the Player app opens but I don't see any video to play. Even if I re-doubleclick on the BRAW file, the player UI doesn't appear.
I have to go to the menu and locate the file manually. Then the player appears and everything works as expected.
The file(s) play(s) without problems in the player, on camera and in DaVinci a.s.o.
What is the version of your Blackmagic RAW Player ? look in the about
Where does your .braw come from ?

Did you find a solution. I also have the same problem with .braw files downloaded from BM site. Resolve does not show them as media. BRAW player shows them but just does not play.

I'm having serious issues with 16.3b. I can manage to get URSA mini 12k footage to work in the NLE, however, I cannot seem to be able to get the software to export the videos in 12k. Every time I select to output in the source resolution, Resolve outputs the video in a strange tiny window in the center of the image with black bars around the image. No matter what format I try use, that is always the outcome. So the question becomes, what's the point of being able to edit 12k braw when you can't even output to 12k? Worse so, I can't output to 8k as well.
Hello, Im not sure if this falls under the same forum but I just can't seem to figure out how to make a new forum question. I am also having issues with playing some BRAW files. One of my clips was working last week and now when I plug my hard drive back in the thumbnail has defaulted to the stock Blackmagic photo and the clip shows up as "media offline" in resolve. Also now the audio from this clip is showing up muted (it isn't red in the timeline but there's just no longer audio playing from it). I'm on Mac mini M1 and am not sure what has happened.

So either it can't read the file to get a thumbnail, or you don't have the official Blackmagic RAW Player installed. Please try to go to the support page and try to install latest BRAW SDK

I'm having the same issue. If I click on a BRAW file, the player application opens up but it doesn't do anything. It's not frozen or crashing, just literally does nothing. If I open the same file from the file menu then it loads. I'm running version 3.0 direct from BMD website and I had the same issue with my previous version as well, which was 2.1 something (I didn't think to write down the version number before uninstalling and upgrading to 3.0)
