Shared Cache when duplicate Timeline?

Hi there. I don't know if I'm missing something but everytime I copy/paste (duplicate) a Timeline, even if I just want to make some audio track adjustments, all my video clips start re-caching again. This is very time consuming and has nosense (Premiere & Avid work perfect on that). Is there any way to link the cache to clips instead of Timelines, so it only re-caches the adjusted clips in the copied Timeline and not everything?. If this is not possible it makes unusuable the software for editing different versions of the same sequence, as it will re-cache on each of the timeline versions. We make intensive use of fusion and color nodes, as the software is intended for, but we need as well make different versions of the same sequences.
Am I doing anything wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Carlos

Hi Carlos,
i'm running into the same issue here and want to address this problem too. It is quite annoying especially in case of long form timelines. I have timelines 1 to 2 hours long with lots of edits and footage and cached clips. Duplicating one of this timelines takes forever.
I replayed to bring this up again.

I think the only solution for now is to use the new "Render in Place" feature of Resolve 17

Thanks for your reply, Panagiotis. So lets hope, that version 17 is not beta anymore in the near future. I'm on 16.2.8 since i'm supposed to stay "non-beta" for commercial projects. Today duplicating a timeline took 34 minutes while Davinci hangs like if it would be crashed.
