Not seeing a version of Resolve in the Cintel 4.0 update. What version of Resolve is recommended to be used with Cintel 4.0 release or can we now always use the most current version?

Will new Cintel Scanners only ship with capstan grip drive wheels or you would be able to get a choice?

Are there any other strengths or weaknesses of running one drive wheel over another, besides the capstan type being gentle on film with fragile or damaged perforations? Any situations in which the sprocket drive wheel would be preferred?

In general we hope to just be supported by the latest resolve available moving forward. We have however found a bug with audio preview (Not capture) in the current latest build. This will be fixed in the next resolve release however.

In the short term I believe both transports will be available and we will be awaiting feedback to see what happens moving forwards.

Very curious about the capstan drive too. Will there be any possibility of having an existing scanner converted to capstan drive?

Hi,

there is no upgrade path from sprockets to capstans. The are considered two separate products.

Checking in if the audio preview bug has been addressed yet?
Which version of Resolve addresses it?

Hi Eric,

yes it has been addressed in all the latest versions of Resolve. 16.2.8 has the fix and all the latest 17 betas.
