Workflow for exporting Subtitles (only)

Hello there!

I am trying to figure out how to work with subtitles.

Currently I can burn them in or export as .srt, no problem with that (although I had to learn how to set the proper timecode first).

However, I have a couple of problems with the workflow:
  • I am unable to export only subtitles. I understand it is not the main purpose of Resolve, but it would be very convenient. When trying to disable the video track, the audio track gets enabled and vice versa. This makes exporting the subtitles a time-consuming task for long projects, where after the first delivery I am simply requested to add and retime a second language track I already worked on in a parallel, alternative ADR timeline. The closest thing I could do was exporting audio only, even though the audio file is still useless and export takes longer than necessary.
  • Subtitle tracks are always exported in a file named "subtitle[n].srt". This makes it impossible to handle when I am planning to export several timelines at once. It would be great if they could at least be renamed after the filename. Not to mention adding a suffix for the specific language of the track, which would make it even better.

Any thoughs about how to improve this approach?

Thanks!

Bump, I don't think any of these issues have been resolved or addressed and I'm currently trying to do the same thing.

I almost forgot about this thread. I am not sure since when but...

Check out File -> Export -> Subtitle... :D :D

it will export ONLY the visible track. But that's EXACTLY what I needed in the first place!
