Unable to grab still (Resolve Studio Ver 16.2.7.008)

Hello All,

About 3 weeks ago, the Grab Stills functionality has stopped working. I'm in the color tab, right click, select grab still, and nothing shows up in the media pool. I'm running Resolve Studio Ver 16.2.7.008

I have a Windows PC and the media storage is routed to an internal SSD drive.

Any ideas how to get this working again?

Stills are saved to the gallery, not media pool

In the top left of the GUI, you can switch back to the Gallery.

Yes it's not grabbing and placing anything in the gallery right now.

SOLUTION :
This wasn't working for me and the method seems to be inactive although "Grab Still" is still on the menu in DR 18.6 I found the solution under this menu: File>Export>Current Frame as Still

You get the same ability to choose location, rename, and choose a file type.

That's NOT the same thing as grabbing a still to the Stills Gallery. Stills are grade node trees, not just an image.

The first thing I would check is go to Project Settings -> Master Settings -> Working folders, and make sure that the "Gallery Stills Location" path is absolutely correct. The second thing I'd do is make sure that drive is valid and the read/write permissions are set correctly.

Then, under User Prefs -> System, check Media Storage and confirm that the first drive in the list is the correct location (and the same as the one in System Prefs). "The first media storage location in the above list will be used to store gallery stills and cache files. This location should be permanently connected to your system." So the trick is that if this is a removable drive, it might momentarily go to sleep, or the connection becomes invalid, or some other problem prevents it from saving Gallery stills. Solve that problem and I'd almost guarantee it can work.
