While decoding support has expanded dramatically, one hold back is an efficient encoder.

From what I've read in the past, AV1 is a bit like bitcoin, you don't use CPU or GPU, but ASIC, and software encode will never be a reality as to make AV1 patent free it also became ridiculously inefficient and slow, but that is something hardware AV1 encoding should be able to solve, but until then it's not very useful

FYI - MainConcept has a an AV-1 encoder - https://www.mainconcept.com/products/fo ... codec.html I can not speak for how well it works, or what speed it encodes at. My question was if it will be available for us DR users to access via the plug in.

Voukoder does have an experimental support for AV-1 encoding.

I am delighted by this! AS-11 delivery without Avid makes me very happy. The system in Premiere never worked properly for me.

Have you properly used segment markers and fill metadata for every export in Premiere?

Intel is getting ready to ship AV1 hardware encode AV1 4:2:0 which should be enough for YT depending on what you are doing. Whether it will be supported by resolve is a very different question. I seem to remember the next generation of AMD will support AV1 4:2:0 as well and NVidia will also if they don't already. It is being put in mostly to support video conferencing but will help with some use cases that people here need.

This is a very good addition to Resolve.
But as I posted here, we need a "Decoder plugin pack"
