You cannot export a raw frame out of Resolve. If you would like to save a raw frame just use the single dng file out of the CinemaDNG sequence and it should be accessible in other software just as if it came off a dslr.

I'm not sure how you got a png file out of Resolve since that doesn't seem to be an export option. Use tiff if you want to export a high quality still image. To mark a single frame, find it in the timeline on the deliver page and click both the Mark In and Mark Out buttons to select just that frame.

If you would like to have the image with the "flat" look to it, just remove any grading nodes and adjust the color space and gamma options in the clip's raw panel to set the look.

DNG files are not flat. In fact they have no colour as they are RAW files. RAW is just sensor data with metadata attached. They need to be processed to look how you want them.

When you view a DNG on your hard drive (like in the Finder on the Mac using Preview) your computer is guessing how this image might look. It does not have the Blackmagic Cinema Camera profile to work from. So it adds saturation as it thinks it should be.

If you open the DNG in Resolve or Adobe CameraRAW (via Lightroom, Photoshop, After Effects, etc) or other RAW processor you can then control how that RAW data is processed.

That is the beauty of RAW. It has no look. You choose how it looks when you process it.

This is why there is no export RAW option in Resolve. Doing so would just save the same DNG that you already have.

Just browse to the frame you want on your hard drive and open it in Photoshop via CameraRAW and process it like any RAW image from a DSLR or Medium Format Digital camera.

Adam is right.

The closest approximation to RAW is to do a true ACES conversion and export: all the original data is retained in the EXR, however it will need care handling of the color space.

You seem to have posted in an old thread that is not related to your issue. I'm assuming this is a frame from the URSA Mini 4.6K. If it is, and you are concerned that you have sensor issues, it's best to contact BM support directly. They will work through the issue with you and if need be supply you with an RMA to get your camera repaired/replaced.

I am trying to pull an ACR still out of DR. Per this thread I understand this can't be done (although DR may have added this capacity as it's been 7 years). I went to the source video folder, then file, then frame. Every frame appears black via the Mac Finder window. I then attempted to import into LR after unlocking the frame. It imported but there appears to be no image.
Any ideas?

Wouldn't that be a question for the Adobe Lightroom forums?

3:1 and higher compressed DNGs are not supported in macOS finder preview and probably in Lightroom as well.

Is it possible to take a recorded Braw clip and extract a single frame still as a RAW File? would it help to convert it to CinemaDNG Format first?

You can export a single frame from the RAW tab. But it'll be BRAW. So, what do you want to do with it?

You can always export in a high-quality format, like DPX or TIFF, from the stills gallery.
