Resolve 17 Render takes hours

PostThu Nov 12, 2020 7:35 am

Hi,

I upgraded to Resolve 17 and the same video which took 2 hours to render is taking 7 hours...

i also created a new project and added a 10 min clips shot in FHD and rendering it to mp4
(no Color correctors or any extra stuff)

render time is 1 hour...

Can someone help in this?

Solution:
Nvidea Drivers needs to be upto date (I mean LATEST)
A minimum NVIDIA driver version of 450.51.06 is a MUST.

Please see the FAQs and report your system details, GPU, OS etc, and the clip details.

I also noticed an increase in time taken, in DR16 my vids were around 15min render, in 17, around 25-30 min, for the same size video..

2x ~10min clips (FPS game matches) into 1x 15-20min video, with small intro & credits (1920x1080 60fps)

Win 10, GTX980 (I know, not the best, but gotta work with what I have right?), 32gb ram..

2019 Mac Pro, 3.2 16 core
96 gb ram, (Dual) AMD W5700X

Had previously notice slower render times on MacBook Pro, so tried some old projects on the Mac Pro. Render times for the Vimeo and Youtube presets take roughly twice as long. Renders to ProRes are about the same.

4GB Nvidea GPU offers nothing that we an help with.. please offer specific GPU and specific GPU driver

And do you have the studio version as rendering to h.264 can only use the GPU hardware with Studio

this is happening only with Resolve

Kiran,

From viewtopic.php?f=21&t=125040:
At the end, on Minimum Requirements under Windows:
• A minimum NVIDIA driver version of 451.82 is recommended.

Please make sure that you download a compatible driver version from Nvidia and performa a clean install. Please also ensure that your GPU processing mode is set to CUDA.

Regards
