Clips show "media offline" when they aren't

I'll be working on an edit or in the color page and spontaneously the clip thumbnails will show "media offline".
Sometimes zoom in/out of the timeline will refresh them or scrubbing over the thumbnail in the media pool.
Sometimes I have to "relink" the files and they come back even though the media was in the same place.

This is on Windows 10

What kind of media?

I've had this too, DNxHD 120 files, Windows 10 machine. I hap to pull the offending clip off the timeline and put it back on and then it was happy.

In this same project, I also had the missing audio problem in the export.

What kind of media?

In my case, GoPro H.264 MP4s. Stored on local internal SSD drive. Have used the same type of media in a half dozen other small project without issue under version 16.

It could be an issue with 17, especially if Mart had it with DNx clips.

In previous versions it did seem to be related to H.264 media, my only solution to which was...don't shoot H.264. It's a delivery format.

It randomly happened to me again after working within the project for a little while.
I was able to get around it by zooming in and out of the timeline in the edit page no relinking required.
So seems to me that it isn't losing the media as much as it is just forgetting it had thumbnails.

Yup, I can confirm this is happening to me regularly. Closing and reopening sometimes fixes it, and the issue doesn't appear to affect rendering the project.
