[SOLVED] With disable "Use GPU for Blackmagic Raw Decode", RCM clips Braw (doesn't happens with Aces, no idea why) [/SOLVED]

I have some BRAW files that the RCM set to 709 2.4 output, and SDR 709 preset handle poorly.

Highlight clipped or compressed beyond retrievable at 768.

and attached a capture of the behaviour

ACES handles it fine

EDIT: Adding a .dra to simplify

have you enabled highlight recovery in the RAW tab? And then I think you have to recover the highlights in the tab also. Not ideal though, hopefully this is something that can be addressed.

Not seeing on my end with that sample clip and a straight import into Resolve using SDR Rec.709

I saw something similar today. Sky got clipped at 1000 nits in RCM, went all the way to 10,000 nits in ACES.

I keep trying to like RCM, but I keep getting better results with less work using ACES.

I did, but they are well way before the recovery needs

Weird. What are your debayer settings?

i can retrieve them lowering the exposure in the raw tab, but compressing shadows hen there is room for the highlights feels uneeded

Just wanted to point out that this beahaviour is still happening in 17.0B build 15

In version 17.0B Build 18 problem persists.
Aces do a better job at handling the proprietary codec that than the proprietary Color Management.

Maybe if you posted a sample project, people could see what's going wrong?

Interesting, I see nothing of that sort, everything looks normal here. I would speculate that there may be some setting in your System or User Preferences that doesn't get carried out with the project causing this, but I have no ideea which one.

GOT IT!
The update disabled the use of GPU to decode BRAW
