Fairlight Save Issues

PostTue Nov 17, 2020 2:44 pm

Hey Team! I'm a new user to resolve and using 17 beta. After changing audio properties, in my case the compressor to duck the music, all works fine until I save the project and re-open it. Then all of the presets and values are still shown in the mixer, but it simply doesn't do anything anymore (so no more send / listen is happening. Sounds like a bug to me. What could be the hack. Thanks!

Hey, yeah I think this is a bug in 17 beta. The quickest way to fix it that I'm aware of is to uncheck the "listen" button and then check it again, which will restore the connection. But it's just temporary – if you switch to another timeline (or reopen the project), then the sidechain is ignored again.

Fingers crossed this gets fixed soon.

I've been experiencing similar issues with Fairlight but with inserts/FX from Resolve FX and third party VSTs.

I'm using the new flexbus routing and I’m adding some FX like reverb and distortions from third party plugins and Fairlight FX and I save every time before I close. However, each time I restart the project, the plugins disappear and I have to reapply them every single time I start the project. The interesting thing is that the “I” indicator for insert below the Effect is still illuminated when the plugins have disappeared on restart.

I’ve attached screenshots.

Anyone else with this issue?

I am also having this issue and its driving me crazy. "I" indicator and all still on, yet all insert effects gone.

System is Ryzen 9 3900, Radeon VII, Windows 10.

Hope this gets addressed in the next build.

Workaround is to save your plugins inserts as a Fairlight configuration preset allows you to quickly load up your layout next time you open the project. You just need to remember to save as a new preset or update the preset if you add anything new to your inserts or do any changes to the parameters.

Thanks for the tip! You just saved me having to go through a Pro Tools export just to finish a video that shouldn't need a Pro Tools export.

This missing insert thing got fixed in the released version of Beta 6. Probably good in Beta 7 but I'm not gonna update to that just yet.

Ali's original issue was listed as fixed in Beta 7.
