Broken Edit page and performance after NVIDIA driver update

PostSat Nov 21, 2020 10:43 am

Yesterday I updated my nvidia studio drivers to last version (Studio 457.30) and I experimented two big issues:

1- Edit page is broken, the bottom panel that should contain the timelines is just black. Cut page instead is ok.

2- Playback speed dropped down to 1-2 frame per second meanwhile before the update it was perfectly smooth and fast.

I experimented these issues with DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.2.7, I decided to upgrade to Studio 17.0b2 and I got exactly the same issues. This is the second time that I found myself completely stuck after an NVIDIA driver update (first time was because BRAW) despite the fact I was using stable version of DaVinci Studio and stable version of NVIDIA Studio drivers, probably I'm just very unlucky...

Anyone had similar issues? any suggestion?

Thanks,
have a nice day

I'm using the latest nVidia driver (see signature for system details) without any problems (so far).

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Hi Lexvid,
thanks for your answer. I can add that this issue happen only for the 2 projects where I switched the timeline source from 1080FHD to 4K DCI... in this case Edit panel is broken and I suffer slowdon on playback. The same projects were fine before driver update.

I'm also using 457.30 without any issues.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Hi,
I tried changing the Timeline Resolution to 4096 x 2160 DCI (not sure if that's what you did) and it plays correctly. The timeline was 1920 x 1080 before.

Not much help again!

Thanks all for the help!

At the end I solved reloading a previous version of the project, for some strange reason my project was compromised resulting in the broken edit page issues... Really strange!

Bye all
