new database created but initialization failed davinci resol

PostSun Nov 22, 2020 10:12 pm

I am getting this error message when trying to upload a saved database "new database created but initialization failed davinci resolve"

it happens on DR16 beta 3 as well as DR 17 beta 2. Right after that error message comes up, it says that the new database was created successfully but its nowhere to be found. I am on a macbook pro 2020 using catalina. Never had this problem before and have no idea whats causing it now.

Are you creating Database on external drive or internal SSD? Make sure you are not using exFAT if it’s external.

I'm on a Windows 10 and I have almost the same problem vith Resolve 17 b5
I'm trying to connect databases that I backup earlier from Reslove 17 b2
One database was connected properly, but all other databases can't be connected. I always got this message that new database has been created but initialization failed.

I think I figured out a way to fix it. Not sure the mechanics behind it though. Put the backup file on a seperate hard drive, and set the new database location to a place that you haven't set it to yet. That should work.
