PostgreSQL / Cannot Enable Collaboration

PostMon Nov 23, 2020 10:24 am

Hi there,

I am using PostgreSQL database with a server at home and connecting two clients on that server remotely. Everything is ready and works fine. Until we enable collaboration in the any project. After that, the client is not able to connect on that current project which is set to collaborative but only on the one PC. Both of the clients PCs are on the same network. One works, one not.

This one PC get an error "Cannot Enable Collaboration"
Please ensure that the machines are not connected using a VPN and that DaVinci Resolve is not being blocked by the system firewall.

We are not using a VPN and also we got this error message even if we turn off the system firewall.

Does anybody know where can be an issue?

Thanks!

Are both clients Resolve Studios or Resolves (free)?

Did you ever find a workaround?
We have the same issue.
Have been using collaboration for a longer period and it used to work.

We have 3 studio workstations in a LAN connected to a Jellyfish Mobile that hosts our PostgreSQL database. Happy to provide more info if useful.

Kind regards,
Remco

I've read from staff that Collaboration isn't really meant to work that way. All machines should be in the same building, connected to the same LAN. Going through the Internet wasn't really part of the design.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
