Hi Guys,

I am having an issue on my videos exported from Davinci Resolve 16 anmd the 17 Beta.

The videos wont play on My Iphoe XS MAX, I can hear the audio but the video is just frozen. I have tried all typed of exports on Davinci, all codecs and container I could possible test.

The video wont play on my phone, however it plays on my wife's phone.

It may seem a problem with my phone, but I believe it a compatibility issue with Davinci, because if I export a Video from another editing software (Eg: FCPx) the video plays back normaly using the same settings I used on Davinci.

Has anyone had a similar issue? I am moving from FCPx to Davinci and that is the only thing holding me back, cause I cannot post anywhere from my phone after exporting from Davinci Resolve.

Does your wife have the same phone as you do?

She has an Iphone 8 Plus and I have Xs Max.

I'm so happy I found your post!!! I've been having the same problem since yesterday and I thought I was alone. Have you found any solution for this??? I'm having literally the exact same problem...

I have the same issue!
I updated to BigSur for Mac and my existing version of Davinci 16 (at the time) produced black images or just frozen frames when they were transferred to my iphone (12 Pro). Now I updated to the public beta of Davinvi 17 and still no avail. I blamed apple photos and the drives that I used to upload to my iPhone but I personally think Davinci is incompatible with BigSur!

Having the same problem here. Exported video will not play on my iPhone 11 Pro or my iPad 11 pro. Video stutters and goes like 1 frame every 5 seconds. I tried to convert the file with vlc, QuickTime and iMovie before sending it with Airdop and no luck. After I put the same file through Final Cut Pro it worked on iPhone. On DaVinci I tried different settings but nothing..

Any solutions anyone?

Anyone from Black Magic have any input on this??

I'm having the exact same issue right now. It'll play on my mac right after I export it but when I airdrop it over to my iphone it just wont play. I've tried altering the export settings slightly here and there and nothing works. Very serious issue that Blackmagic needs to address

Glad I discovered this forum. I am also having the same exact issue exporting from davinci resolve ( running MacOS Big Sur) to my iPhone XR. Video lags and does not export to Instagram like I need it to. However, I can play it on my laptop just fine after rendering it. I’ve tried changing most important export settings with no success. The only success I’ve had was playing the video in VLC player but again it will not export to Instagram without a timeout error........ I’m leaning towards it being a Big Sur issue but not facts on that.

I have the exact same problem. I'm editing videos on 2019 macbook pro with Big Sur. My videos wont play on my iphone 11 while at the same time my videos play fine on my wifes iphone 8 plus.

I have same problem. Made a short 3D video in Fusion and rendered as normal and Airdropped to my iPhone XS. Does not play back, only every 4-5 second, there is a frame. Tried different export settings, same thing. But it plays on my wife's phone, which is an iPhone X, even when forwarding the video from my phone. I tried the suggestions in the forum, and ran the video through Compressor. And then it worked. Something must be wrong with the way the video is wrapped on export from DaVinci.
I am using version 16.2.8.005.
