Here's the deal. The 16 Fusion Titles have been deprecated and replaced with newer ones in 17.
If you had used any of the 16 Fusion Titles in a 16 project, those will still work when the project is brought into 17.
If you think there was a 16 Fusion Title that you've just got to have, that doesn't have a new 17 version, you can copy the .setting file for that Title from a Resolve 16 install.
This would require you to reinstall 16 (or install it on a different system, doesn't matter if its the free or Studio version) and copy the desired .setting file.
For Windows, these files are in this folder:
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Titles
So with a Resolve 16 install, get the desired .setting files from this folder.
To use the Resolve 16 .setting files in 17, they need to be put into a folder. You can call it whatever you want. I called mine v16. If you just copy them into the same folder with the Resolve 17 .setting files, they won't be seen. They need to be inside their own folder.
You can create that v16 (or whatever you want to call it) folder in the location above. That will work fine. But it will likely be removed if you uninstall Resolve 17.
If you want it to be more persistent, put it into your user specific folder, which is here:
C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Titles
where xxxx is your Windows User name.
This folder should normally be empty. Create your v16 folder here, and paste the desired .setting files into it.
Now when you launch Resolve, you'll see the Resolve 16 titles with a prefix of whatever you named the folder. The v16 titles will placed alphabetically into the Titles list. Something like the screen shot below. Because I used a folder name of v16, all the v16 titles are placed in the v position in the list.

I hope this gets you whatever you are looking for.
