Recover Lost Projects

Hoping there might be a solution - I had to do a Windows reset and backed up my appdata folder, but now realize that everything in Resolve is stored in a database. Sorry I'm not a professional, I just use this for light video editing for YouTube.
My question is: Can I install the older version of Resolve (I'll have to try to figure out which I was using, it was 15 something) and use an online backup I keep to restore the database somehow, back up the db and then upgrade (or just stay on the older version)?
I didn't have much there but it would take me some time to recreate what I had because as I said I'm a novice. One project was something I was working on with my son which I would hate to lose.
Thanks,
-G

If you have a backup of the database then you might be able to recover it.
Default disk databases created prior to Resolve 16 will be present in the user application support directory. This corresponds to:
C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Resolve Disk Database
On a PC, this folder is hidden by default so you can either copy and paste this file path into the Explorer window, or you would need to enable viewing of hidden files within Windows.
The default disk database created using Resolve 16 beta or after will be present in the user application support directory.
Windows: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Resolve Disk Database
If you can locate that DB and the parent folder you can make a copy of the whole folder tree into your new v16 database tree.
if you have trouble take a photo of the paths mentioned and your new v16 path so someone can advise.

Thank you very much - I was trying to replace the data folder in Postgresql and then the service doesn't start. I'll uninstall the whole application (I'm on 15), reinstall, and replace the Resolve Disk Database directory as you suggested.
I really appreciate your time as I realize that this was all my mistake not understanding the complexity of the application - maybe complexity is not the right word - I just didn't remember it used a database.

Thanks for your help but I guess I lost everything. I don't have a Black Magic directory in Program Data in my backup - not sure why. Program Data was included in my backups but of course you don't ever have the thing you need in your backup.
That's a lot of lost work
