YouTube export preset problem

PostSun Nov 29, 2020 12:39 pm

When I export a movie using the YouTube preset it results in a movie that plays fine on my mac, but freezes and just play audio in my iPhone. I already tried several times with different videos.

Anyone had the same problem?

I am using Davinci 17.1B Build 3

Just checked a video encoded in DR17b Build 9 using the standard YouTube encode render setting and it plays fine on an iPhone (12 Max).

Make phone calls with your phone.

Watch films and videos on the Home Theater. :D

Newer iPhones seem to love H.265 more than H.264.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

The issue is not with the newer iPhones, it worked fine before Big Sur / Resolve 17.

Blackmagic, you're up to Beta 4 now, you plan look into this?

It's necessary for social media content production.

I live in a sailboat and the iPhone is the only way I have to upload episodes to my channel.
Of course I can use it as a hotspot, but to keep an MacBook Pro turned on just to upload a movie will drawn my battery in a unnecessary way. I just use solar panels to edit.
