[Fixed 17b6] Thumbnail resolution on Project Manager page

This is a pretty minor issue, but I noticed that the resolution of the project thumbnails in the project manager are quite a bit lower than in v16. Perhaps it is to allow for better performance during "hover scrubbing" but they look a bit on the blurry side.

Happens to me too, and I can't find any setting to improve them.
Quite frankly, they're bad.

I'm wondering if there is a solution to this.

We didn't implement a change.. and details to repo would help.

Hi Peter.
The repo steps are simply to open the Project Manager. I did some additional testing by creating a project containing a single clip (mp4 4K 100mb/s 8-bit color 29.97 fps) and got the same result. I also generated optimized media on the clip and created a custom poster frame and saw no change. I have projects containing clips with 1080p mp4 clips as well as .png stills. All clips show in very low resolution in the Project Manager. My projects are all 1080p timelines stored on a local disk database. My signature contains my hardware and software config.

Mine are really blurry. By the way, I'm not using the Local Database but PostgreSQL. On the database infos, there is a remark: Patched with 17.0.0.001 database upgrade.

I don't really know how to reproduce. Happened after I have upgraded to Resolve 17 Beta, right after the database migration. Now everytime I create a new project, the thumbnails are really blurry and low res.

I doubt this will be a very helpful post, but I have a similar problem.

I have some UHD material that I've pulled into a newly created v17 project set to 1080p resolution, and my thumbnails are VERY soft and cropped to a small section of my source image. Curiously, it's not always the centre of the image, although the attached screenshot is from the centre.

I've pulled the source clips in again, and that worked as expected, so I'm not sure how this has happened. I have rendered DNX HQ full resolution proxy files, if that might have anything to do with it.

Also, I am running on a UHD resolution monitor with the Windows 10 system scaling set to 150%.

Not for me!

Been this way ever since 17 arrived.

Hi, anyone knows how to deal with the DATABASE thumb itself? On the left side of the project manager page. It is quite annoying because if I remove or change the thumb, it won't apply.

Any hint?

Thanks!
