Using DR17 Public Beta and I can not seem to open Inspector and retain both the source and timeline monitors. The source monitor disappears if I active the Inspector. What am I missing or have I just got brain fade?

It depends on your screen resolution as to whether it will show both the source and record monitors with the Inspector open. But you can always switch to the source monitor even when there's just the one viewer showing, using Active Panel Selection, or the Source/Timeline Viewer toggle

You can also use the Q key to switch between Source and Timeline.

A larger screen.
I recommend the following resolution/screen size minimums.
1080 - 24"
1440 - 27"
2160 - 32"

Thanks for your reply.
Never had this problem with DR16 and I do have a Retina 4K which has always been up to the task... hence my confusion. Perhaps someone at BM/DR could shed a little light on this conundrum.

I'm having the exact same issue. I'm on the very latest v17 studion beta version (shows as 17.0B build 18 in the about screeen).
My monitor is a 42" LG running at 3840x2160. If I use a size of 100% or 125% then I am able to see both viewers (source and timeline) as well as the inspector panel. But at 150%, which is my preferred setting, then I no longer have an option for the source viewer.
I can not recall if this behavior has changed in the beta from 16, but I am pretty certain it has. Perhaps something to do with the UI changes to the Inspector panel has messed with the determination if the 2 viewers can "fit" along with the inspector?

Peter, Marc, Tom is right. Resolve auto-resizes based on available resolution and this behavior hasn't changed since v16.
Since you say you had all panels visible for v16, please include details on your hardware (focusing on number of displays, resolution etc).
For single display setups, do try toggling off the panels in the left sidebar. If that allows for both viewers, enable the left sidebar back and resize the left side bar to minimize its width. If it does not show two viewers at its minimum width, it means you cannot simultaneously display two viewers alongside the left sidebar (media pool/effects) and right sidebar (inspector)

Same exact experience at 3840x1080. Activating the Inspector disables the Source viewer if both were displaying. This was not the same in Resolve 16 on the exact same hardware.
