DRS17B4 - interlace project - double speed.

Hi,

I have another problem with interlaced HD 1080i50 project.
All media - mov PRORES HQ 50i
Project set like this:

I import AAF from Avid MC 2020.
This time - timewarp work (THANKS BMD) but when play i have double speed.

When i set video monitoring to 1080i50 it automaticly set "Playback frame rate to 25 field per second"??
I do not get it. My frame rate is 25 but with 50 field so i should play 50 field per second.
When set it manualy i can not play at all.

When you set Enable Interlace Processing, it creates i25 as p50. Manually set the Playback Frame Rate to 50 fields per second. (Which changed from Frames per second to Fields per second when you checked the Enable Interlace Processing as well.)

Things should then play properly in the timeline. If you want to output i25 footage, you need to choose a codec that supports interlacing and check the Interlaced checkbox in Delivery. Otherwise you'll get a p50 output.

Interlace support is unfortunately not quite there yet - it's close though - I hope it's all sorted before the beta closes. The interlace support seems to be a 50p hack (which is fine, it's just the output end isn't sorted yet - there's a mismatch between 50p/50i that isn't correct because you can't actually output 50i to a monitor).

I had the same issues you describe, no playback in edit page - However - I set my video monitoring to HD 50p and everything started working well (in terms of playback) but the issue is of course that we should be able to monitor in a proper 50i signal. I'm lucky that my BMD card and monitor can handle 50p too.

I hope this helps in the short term until BM finally nail the interlace support!

Thanks for 50p workaround. There is a lot of interlace problem yet for example Pre-conformed EDL, Scen Cut detection with load edl ... I hope it will be done right in next release.

Currently, interlace support feels a bit like in AEFX.

I've also realised that in single clip delivery export mode the resulting timecode does not match the timeline timecode as it should. It's roughly double - so a 10 hour timecode will be 20 hours on export (for fairly obvious reasons!)

Interlaced projects with 50i as output format on BMD hardware are not playing audio in Beta 6 on the edit page, do play audio on the colour page and plays messed up audio on the fairlight page.

Just an update to B7 release and this issue. The same audio problems persist:

Interlaced projects with 50i as output format on BMD hardware are not playing audio in Beta 7 on the edit page, DO play audio on the colour page and plays messed up audio on the fairlight page.

Interestingly scrubbing on the edit page does result in audio out of the Decklink card - just playback is silent!
