Switch to Color page on selected clip?

PostSat Dec 12, 2020 2:53 am

When a clip is selected on the Edit page, is there a way to switch to the Color page and have that clip be the one selected? Like "Open in Fusion" except "Open in Color"?

When I have dozens of clips on the timeline, and many have masking, the Color page thumbnails nearly all look black... and it's quite difficult to find the clip I was just working on by clicking around.

(I should add that I sometimes observe this behavior when switching... but not always - which is why I'm looking for a reliable method)

Case in point: selected clip, switched to color page. The "highlighted" clip is not the clip I was looking for... and look at the row of clips! (there are two dozen more off to the right). Who knows which one is the one I had selected? When the clips are selected, they will show the proper thumbnail (masked image) - but the mini-thumbnails are all black.

Thats odd - I usually find the clip selected in Edit timeline is the one selected automatically when I jump to Color page ... things could go wrong if you have multiple video tracks stacked on top of each other possibly.

Selection is irrelevant. Color opens with the playhead in the same position as on Edit.

So, move the playhead to that clip. If there are other clips above, disable those tracks.

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I will add it as a feature request then. Clicking disable (and then later re-enable) on a series of 12+ video tracks seems excessive to jump a specific clip from the Edit to the Color page.

+1
Its annoying deactivate clips above. Sometimes you need adjustment clips activated to see the result.
If you select a clip on edit, should be selected in color.

This is a problem even when working purely on the Edit timeline on a lower track like V1 and there are V2..V5 stacked on top - Even with V2..V5 disabled the top track is selected when navigating the timeline by clicking anywhere on it (and never V1). Destination Track selector has no effect whatsoever...
