resolve studio activation key problem

activating davinci resolve studio 17 beta does not work. when i put in my activation key I get something like: "activation did not succeed, please contact blackmagic. " this is the first installation on this machine (linux manjaro ) so i cannot say if this is beta related or a general problem i got.

You may have to follow directions and....contact Blackmagic.

for some reason the automatic process of removing the license from an older activation was not working, now all good

Ahhh.

Good they were able to correct so swift.

Were you aware you can Deactivate yourself, to make sure it happens? (Help menu.)

thanks! I had no idea! next time I will do that (if possible, this time i was registered on a crashed system )

oh and here I am again, with the same / similar problem:

the manual deactivation did not work on one of my computers, so I asked black magic to remove the licenses, and now when I want to activate again I get the infamous "contact black magic" text in red

and with their customer service not being able to help me... do you people have any other idea of how i could activate in another fashion on my computer than the usual activation? is there a way of copying a license file to some folder, like in other softwares sometimes possible? any idea is very much appreciated, thanks!!

Try it with a tethered smartphone, worked for me when I encountered that problem.

Uli, thanks, I tried, no luck till now...

DR17 Beat8 still does not work for me... stays on page "Checking License". All previous betas have started fine. I do not have phone linked with computer. Will call BMD today... meantime have had to just revert to beta7

Jeffrey D Mathias did your reversion to beta 7 went well? I had the suspicion that the license activation process has changed somehow on the server side and therefore even with older betas I couldnt log in anymore..

Kris, Yes reversion to beta 7 worked fine. I uninstalled beta 8, rebooted, then installed beta 7.

good to hear!! still no success here.. and waiting for an answer from bm...

got this solved finally!!

it was really the server problem on the BM site, now i could activate and all works!
