Rename with Camera #

Whoever added the feature to rename clips using metadata variables, I want to buy that software designer a steak dinner, but I hit a snag. I'm trying to name the clips to %{Scene}_t%{Take}_%Camera# so I see 34_t03_A, but Camera # isn't a recognized variable. Fortunately, it's easy for me to put A or B into another field and then use that to rename, but it seems like an oversite to not have Camera # already in there. when I type %Camera, the available options are Manufacturer and Aperture Type. I'm guessing the # screwed something up in the code perhaps?

It's listed as Cam #, not Camera.

Son of a.... I guess I just typed too fast to see it before I hit the "era." Thank you.

Ah, I see the problem. It doesn't show up in the suggestion list when you hit %C, or %Ca, or even %Cam. You have to type the entire %Cam # before it pops up as a suggestion. I'd call that a bug.

I found it at all three stages. c, ca and cam.

More letters = a smaller list, but it was there all three times.

I hope I'm interpreting this correctly, but my advice is don't chance clip names. You can always change the metadata and the "Displayed Clip Name," and that's perfectly fine. But for editing purposes it's generally a very bad idea to change the source file name. In fact, it's a disaster with spanned clips, like R3D files or Sony Raw or Canon Raw.

These are the display names in Clip Attributes, Marc.
