Black shadow greyed out / not working

Hello, I'm using the latest version of DR. For some reason, I'm completely unable to activate the "drop shadow" option for my subtitle text. The red button slider is activated, but nothing changes, the options under "drop shadow" are all greyed out. I'm on windows if that helps... Is anyone else having this problem?

As a general rule, terms like "latest", "current", "newest", etc. are meaningless

but sometime it works
I cant figure out what cause it to work and why it become grey but I am sure there is serious bugs in subtitle module since it become very unresponsive when adding middle eastern or right to left text and every 20 subtitle I add, have to restart the program to make it work smooth

I'm on 17.0B Build 10 (on windows) and I'm having the same issues: can't adjust the 'drop shodow' and 'background settings' for subtitles. Other options all work fine. Help gratefully received!

There's actually a new forum for version 17 that we're supposed to use.
