Please explain green dots in color window scenes

Since upgrading to Beta 17 I see this green dot in some of my scenes and green lines under the nodes of these scenes. Can someone please tell me what they do? Thanks!

According to the manual, those would be clip colors. (Which color you may have assigned in the Edit or Cut page, in which the entire clip is colored.) No idea why nodes would also be highlighted,

I really didnt link those dots to the clip colors Ive assigned in the edit page

Yeah, I'd seen purplish dots and sort of wondered what they meant, then ignored them. Your question finally spurred me to figure it out. Marking clips is a deeper feature than I had originally thought.
