Hey guys, this is probably something really simple, but I cant figure it out and its been bugging me. So say I have a long clip, and I want to speed up the center part of it. So it would be normal speed, fast, normal for that clip. What I try to do is cut the clip at the start and stop of where I want it sped up, and then change clip speed to whatever. The problem is that every time I do this the end is way past mu cut, as in it pulls in video from later in the clip. My work around has been to just re adjust my end point after I have sped it up, but that is annoying.

What am I doing wrong, or missing here?! Seems like this should be pretty straight forward. Thanks in advance for the help!

Try a different method.

Take a look at Part 5 of the manual, the chapter on Speed Effects, specifically the Retime Controls.
