Is it normal for Fusion tab to eat all memory?

Version 17b5, but also noticed it happening in 17b4
Windows 10 20H2, 32GB RAM, GTX 970

When I open resolve and load any project, RAM utilisation sits at around 14GB.

If I switch to the Fusion tab, and even before I add any effects/transitions I just press play, the memory grows linearly until it maxes at 32GB and Resolve either freezes or disappears.

Is this expected behaviour?

I'm pretty sure this is normal: Fusion is caching the video in memory so it can play back in real time. (As you can imagine, in general Fusion effects can't play back anywhere near realtime without caching.) There's a preference setting to how much RAM Fusion is allowed to use for this purpose.

Ah.... that makes sense. Thanks, Wayne.
