Upgrade to beta 5

PostFri Dec 18, 2020 12:19 am

Hello. I am currently using ver 17 beta 2 studio. It is working great. Would like to upgrade to beta 5, but I see that you recommend uninstalling beta 2 before installing beta 5.

If I uninstall, will I then be able to install the "download only" studio install package and just install without a new registration and so on? Like a normal upgrade.

Yes, there's no need to register when you download the Studio version. The registration isn't tied to your license.

So even if I uninstall DaVinci Resolve and use the "download only" installation file the installation will remember my license number etc and not require me to find the box and setup from scratch?

Yes, it will remember that the Studio was activated on this machine. Even more - you can install Fusion Studio and it will pick up this activation as well - no need to enter the key again.

Thanks :-) I just find it a hassle to look for the box (dont remember where I stored it many years ago) and input the activation and serial, good to know that those is not stored at my end.
