Extending synced audio tracks beyond video length

Hello!

After successfully syncing video to audio using the Auto Sync Audio (using Timecode and append Tracks) function, I do see the appended tracks when dragging them to the timeline (Great!).

Question:
Is there a way to extend the synced audio tracks beyond the beginning and the end of the video clips they were appended to?

The audio recordings are longer than their corresponding video tracks and it would be nice to have them in their entirety available, considering that they might hold some interesting audio for the final edit.

Well... in v17 it is kinda possible.
If you put a video clip in a timeline and then put an audio clip in a separate track and use Auto Align Clips -> Based on timecode you can achieve this and then create a Compound clip. Just keep in mind that it will leave the video as it is placed and will move the audio clip relative to the video one, so ensure there's plenty of room for the movement

Thank you! That works great!

It would be nice to also have the option to extend the already synced/appended tracks though - unless it's already there :?:

Well - this is just a workaround that came to my mind. Most probably there's a better way...
