So we have the new render in place functionality - which is great! - but I did wonder if it would be possible to integrate it a bit differently. I'm doing a project at the moment with quite a few "layers" (so to speak) on top of each other and it just doesn't render when I render normally. I have to use the cached files for it. Because the caching works far better strangely.

The point where it crashes looks like this.

fusion composition with neat and color correction | smooth cut | fusion composition with neat and color correction

Both fusion compositions each consist of two braw pocket 4k clips where I used the second clip to rotoscope a few mistakes. So not even that complicated, only some masks and a paint node to layer the two braw files.
This proves too much for resolve sadly and I can't render it normally.

It would be a tremendous help to be able to use "render in place" for specific parts of the resolve pipeline. So I imagine some kind of flowchart of the pipeline, like Raw -> Cut -> OFX -> Fusion -> Transitions -> Grade or however complicated the resolve pipeline is. Then I could select one of those points in the flow and say "render till here", either doing a fresh render or using already rendered parts from further down below the flow.

This would solve problems with too complicated projects where you try to use the available tools inside resolve but just get to the breaking point of the software, the hardware or both.

I know this is a feature request but I thought I would fit into the 17 beta category.
