AVCHD Media decode issue

Hi,

when I import the 00012.MTS file in the folder linked below, it is stuttering significantly. The effect persists when dropping the clip in a timeline and rendering, see example avchd-import-jump-stutter-bug-demo in the same folder. Source clip plays fine in VLC. Also works fine in Resolve after re-encoding in VLC to H.264.

Running DaVinci Resolve Studio 17b5 on AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X 64GB Windows 10 1909 build 18363.1198, video on local SATA disk.

Is there anything I can do apart from externally re-encoding the clips?
Should I submit a report on blackmagicdesign.com/support/contact/email or should this message be sufficient?

Greetings, Gerd.

Thanks for taking a look! Got an RTX 2070 here. It turns out that when I disable "Decode Options / Decode H.264/H.265 using hardware acceleration" and restart Resolve, it plays just fine here, too.

Looks like there's a bug either in Resolve or in the driver. I've updated the Nvidia driver to the latest version 460.89 but the issue persists. I guess I can disable hardware acceleration when working with affected footage as a workaround, or transcode without using hardware acceleration.

I am happy to confirm that the issue was resolved in beta6, works for me now with hardware acceleration enabled.

I'm guessing this is the releveant release note:
• Addressed an issue with jittery playback for interlaced clips with hardware decoding on Nvidia graphics cards.
